Mad Lion x Dr. Dre = ‘Kush (Refix)’

November 30, 2010

Words by Jesse Serwer

Word has it that Mad Lion, the ruff, gruff, Boogie Down Productions-affiliated deejay behind such mid-’90s raggamuffin rap classics as “Take It Easy” and “Double Trouble,” now operates a medical marijuana dispensary in Southern California. It seems that he’s found himself in another weed-soaked Cali laboratory, as well: Dr. Dre’s. Lion turns up alongside Snoop Dogg and Akon on a “refix” of “Kush,” said to be the first single from the D-R-E’s mythical Detox LP.
