7.Eric “Bingy Bunny” Lamont
Several of the guitarists on this list played with the Roots Radics, arguably Jamaica’s most powerful and revered studio band. The late Eric Lamont—Bingy Bunny—was the Radics’ original guitar player, forming the band in 1978 along with Errol “Flabba” Holt, with whom he played in the Morwells (a/k/a/ Morwell Unlimited). The multitalented Lamont also released a handful of records as a vocalist, but ultimately succumbed to cancer in 1993.
