Ranking Trevor Sets The Record Straight

Words and Photos by Martei Korley

LargeUp caught up with deejay Ranking Trevor at Lincoln “Sugar” Minott‘s historic Black Roots/Youthman Promotions Studio, at the top of Jungle, Kingston, Jamaica. Famous for hosting an eclectic mix of artists, the studio teems with industry icons. Who isn’t there is likely to be featured in the gigantic murals that surround its yard. You might even catch the mural painter at work while Sugar plays dominoes with Tabby Diamond, Jah Stitch and Dillinger. Trevor is the Original Ranking deejay. The Godfather of the ‘Ranking’ moniker. Listen as he breaks it down.
