words by Eddie STATS Houghton
The videos just keep coming; first Gyptian then Nats and now our doopses over at Dutty Artz dropped this video for “The General” from our other doops–Jahdan Blakkamoore, of Noble Society, Major Lazer and “Sound Bwoy Buriell” fame. The track shows that Mr. Blakkamoore is a timeless singjay capable of standing tall alongside dancehall legends like King Kong, Nitty Gritty and Tenor Saw. The grit and graffiti of the video manages to capture visually the dystopian, minor-keyed texture of his aptly named Buzzrock Warrior LP–and might just bring buffalo-stance civil war caps back into style.
