In case you missed the American Music Awards Sunday night, not only did our favorite Bajan gal done good Rihanna take the trophy in a category which put her up against Alicia Keys and Sade BUT she shared some kind of historic Caribbean girl-power moment with our favorite Trini-via-Queens rapper Nicki Minaj. After accepting the obelisk from Minaj, Rihanna took a good 1/3rd of her limited shout-outs time to complement her presenterโs green hair and then finished up with a sister-love slap on the battycheek. Not as titillating maybe, as Madonna and Britney kissing or Janet Jacksonโs infamous wardrobe malfunction. But 100 years from now it may yet be remembered as marking the moment that the brown girl alliance took over. Watch after the jump:
