It’s time. Time to start stockpiling music to play in the background of your week:
Max Glazer of Federation Sound just unveiled a monsterific remix of Rihanna’s latest “What’s My Name” featuring Vybz Kartel. You can get it on the new-brand edition of the Federation podcast (178 and counting) here. Oh and there’s other new music from Natalie Storm, Gappy Ranks and Massive B on there as well.
Matt Shadetek of the Dutty Artz crew just posted this WFMU mix which features tons of original material. This is mostly in the vein of haunted house but also includes Shadetek’s own remix of Blak Ryno, formerly of the Portmore Empire. The remix pairs Ryno’s patois perfectly with Matt’s shangaan and pitori house influences–and it’s from his forthcoming Dutty House EP which drops tomorrow, so check back then!
Thirdly, if you whet your appetite for soca with last week’s “Black Cake and Sorrel” Christmas blend, the Soca Twins blessed us with this Carnival 2010 mix (listen below). When we jook, you jook.
