Summer is quickly approaching and although we ladies love our heels we occasionally need to trade them in for a cute pair of kicks. We’re way beyond the sterotypical pair of white tennis sneakers to go with everything. High top, low tops, slips and of course a variety of colorways to accessorize any outfit. Sneaker fetishing ain’t just for the gents anymore, we can get fly with the best of them. Check out a few fashionable styles with a little flavor.
Rachel Roy teamed up with professional surfer Karina Petroni to collaborate on a few pieces for her Rachel Rachel Roy line. These exclusive Adinah high tops (above) subtly infuse color summer into any wardrobe. The mix of patterns and textures (they’re also available in a light blue-grey) would pair perfectly with cut off shorts and a basic tee or tank and oversized accessories to make a dressed-down look more trendy.
You can still be chic in sneaks with the Keds Champion Spectator, a kind of oxford or brogue meets sneaker. The classic navy is versatile and can be pair with pretty much any jean or even a casual jersey dress or skirt. I’d highly recommend a sneaker like this over trendier styles because these are so comfortable, affordable and fashionable.
The Alexander Sneaker: Sam Edelman is known for sexy shoes, her nude color high top sneakers are a great alternative to plain white, as nude is all the rave for summer. The silver buckle and spikes add a little edge to the sneaker. These would pair great with a short romper or push the edge with fitted pencil skirt and crop tee. Those ought to carry your feet to July, at least…check back on future Fridays for more Style & Vibes!
