In what is no surprise to anyone, Theophilus London has been everywhere during New York Fashion Week, performing at Tommy Hilfiger’s Fashion Night Out party, being photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, and writing a diary about all of it for Paper. (His busy last few days have also included making the cover of Wax Poetics and appearing on MTV’s “When I Was 17”). Tonight, at the Cole Haan store in Soho, he’ll unveil his latest brand collaboration, the “Theophilus Blue Suede Buck.” The nubuck shoes, which will only be available at the Soho store tonight, starting at 7 PM and until the end of Theophilus’ in-store DJ appearance, come with a 10″ inch vinyl version of his Dap Kings-backed cover of Nat King Cole’s “Calypso Blues”– a tune that’s easily one of our favorite songs by dude. Stream “Calypso Blues” here, check some more pics of the shoes below, then decide if it’s worth braving the lines on Prince Street.
