Los Rakas just sent us this footage of their Oakland, CA release party for the Chancletas y Camisetas Bordadas EP which as you would expect was so heavy with Raka-representation that the water level of the SF Bay rose several feet. The webisode from Tek House TV is probably not gonna win any awards for lighting effects but it does what it needs to, which is capture the crazy, Panama flag-waving energy of the crowd, Raka Rich and Raka Dun’s onstage mic control and the fresh footwork of the turf dancers–some of whom you may recognize from the Soy Raka video. Not to start no East-West beef but just wait til we find some footage of our LargeUp-sponsored NY release event–ain’t no party like a New York party, where it ain’t a party til the headliners climb on top of a banquette! Cop C&CB here and stay tuned.
