It seems like rapper-turnt-actor and Okayplayer for life Common stepped off the set of one video shoot in LA and right onto a gulfstream jet bound for Port-Au-Prince to shoot the next one, for the next single off his forthcoming LP The Dreamer, The Believer. The track is called “Sweet” and Common is clearly at fighting weight for this appearance. And based on the francophone snippet playing in the background the song should be le mastodonte–even if it sounds more like “Les Fleur” than Sweet Micky (FYI, it’s actually a sample from Tropeau Bleu, the 1975 LP from Cortex–thank you Dr. Google!). Team Com looks like they are making the most of their Haiti trip and most of all its good to see Port-au-Prince on the same world-conquering itinerary that includes The NY Times best seller list and the White House. Check it out and stay chuned for more on this.
