Mavado, who signed with DJ Khaled’s We the Best imprint in September (right around the same time we shot this LargeUp TV episode with him), has just dropped a video for “Emergency,” a collaboration with Khaled-affiliated Miami rapper Ace Hood and the first track he released after entering the new situation. At first we were reluctant to post a video with World Star Hip Hop branding so prominently embedded in it, but ultimately this one is worth watching, and one of Vado’s most memorable. Shot in Florida, the clip depicts ordinary hood folks inspired by a TV-pirating Mavado to take to the streets, Occupy Wall Street-style, and air their grievances. (“Tell Gingrich I work 2 jobs,” reads one sign, although most just say “Mavado”). Apparently, the revolution really will be televised (or at least on World Star Hip Hop).
