Two years ago, Large Up caught up with Hubert Neal Jr., a talented Belizean visual artist who at the time was exhibiting a series of paintings that chronicled police brutality in Tivoli Gardens on their search for Christopher “Dudus” Coke. The images were quite powerful, depicting the bloody scene Hubert viewed while visiting Jamaica on an artist residency. While Neal still works across different mediums, he has taken on a much lighter project: fashion. His new T-shirt line, Rudeboy launched with a series of vintage-style ring necks with images and phrases reflective of dancehall culture and music. Each shirt can be purchased for $35 on Rudeboy’s website.
