Words by Jesse Serwer—
Most everything that comes our way from the Los Rakas camp scorches but even by those standards, “No Tan Listo” from Raka Dun’s upcoming solo EP, Afro Latino, is sizzling. Rhyming in his native espanol, Dun deftly illustrates why “they ain’t ready” over a propulsive beat from Yeti Beats that’s right in the sweet spot between dancehall and Panamanian plena. Stream “No Tan Listo” below, cop it on iTunes and look out for Afro Latino soon. And if you’re an East Coast Raka, be advised that Raka Dun and Raka Rich have a big weekend planned: they headline the Trinity International Hip-Hop Festival in Hartford, Conn. tomorrow night, followed by an appearance at Sunday Jam Sessions at Bamboo in New York’s East Village the day after (see flyer below).
