Remember Born Jamericans? If you were checking for dancehall-inflected hip-hop in the ’90s, or if you’re just a regular visitor to this site, you’re probably familiar with Born Jamericans—the D.C.-based duo of Edley Shine and Notch were behind ’90s undergound hits like “Yardcore” and “Boom Shak-A-Tack,” to name a few. While the latter has moved over to reggaeton in recent years, Edley is still on his dancehall x hip-hop grind.
