Words by Jesse Serwer—
Even during his Beastie Boys-assisted revival in the mid ’90s, who would have imagined that in 2012, at age 76, Lee “Scratch” Perry would still be regularly touring the world? Scratch, who performed in NYC as recently as last September, returns to New York for a show at the Gramercy Theatre this Thursday, May 17, with support from our own DJ Gravy and Subatomic Sound System. He can’t do this forever, so if you’re a fan and can make it out, we suggest you do. You can buy your tickets here, but we’ve got two (2) pairs give away, though. To win, follow Largeupdotcom on Twitter and RT our tweet with this post and the correct answer to this question: What Lee Perry tune was used in a commercial for Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut chocolate bar? We’ll see the first two of you to hit us with that answer on Thursday night.
