LargeUp Premiere: Machel Montano x Dre Skull = “Go Down”

Words by Jesse Serwer—

For his new Loudspeaker riddim, Dre Skull of Mixpak Records and Vybz Kartel’s Kingston Story fame has connected with none other than the reigning Groovy and Power Soca monarch, Machel Montano. While Machel has been known to step out of his high-BPM soca comfort zone on occasion, you’ve never heard him on a pure dancehall riddim quite like this before. This one is definitely gonna make both the gyuls and gyals go dung this summer, in what we expect will be a sexy show of Trini-JA dancefloor solidarity. Stream “Go Down” below, preview the rest of the tunes here, and look out for the full riddim release, also featuring Beenie Man, Popcaan and Natalie Storm, here on May 22.
