Words by Jesse Serwer—
Phillip Myers and Russell Meghoo (a/k/a Plateface) of Acmatic—maybe you’ve seen them on our site before—produced this track for Jamaican singer/songwriter Machu Ezra. We’d never heard of Ezra before but the Acmatic connection was enough to grab our attention, and we’re glad it did. Driven by Spanish-style acoustic guitar and what we might call Weeknd-esque new-school R&B vocals, “Exposed” offers some more evidence of the growing diversity of sounds coming from young Jamaica right now. It’s a promising start—let’s hope there’s more where this came from. Stream “Exposed” here, and download below.
