LargeUp Yuh Self: Introducing “The LargeUp Sessions” Thursday Nights on Radio Lily

Words by LargeUp Crew—

If you haven’t heard, LargeUp now has a radio show, The LargeUp Sessions, on RadioLily.com, so if you aren’t already tuning in every Thursday night from 6 to 8 pm, you should be. Hosted by LargeUp founder DJ Gravy, each week The LargeUp Sessions brings you a mix of dancehall, reggae, soca, hip-hop and more with guests from the world of Caribbean music and culture, broadcast live from the front window at Miss Lily’s Variety, on West Houston Street, in downtown NYC.

For various reasons, we were waiting to make a formal announcement about the show on the site but, after some big shows in the last few weeks with Kes the Band, Nardo Ranks and dancer Lindsay Hall (the week before last) and the Easy Star All-Stars and Earl Gateshead last week, and some more surprises coming up, it’s definitely time to let the cat out of the bag. This week we’ll be hosting a guest set from our own Mixtape Mondays columnist and rising remix talent DJ Theory. Next week will be a real treat, too, when author Colin Channer stops by to talk with guest host Sherman Escoffery about the new anthology Kingston Noir. Tune in, and large up yuh self.
