Words by Jesse Serwer—
With its unhinged vocals and eerie, X-rated video, Tommy Lee’s “Psycho” is a real eye opener, a striking statement confirming the Gaza lieutenant’s arrival as dancehall’s most unusual new star. We took Tommy for one of those anti-social types who isn’t concerned with regular-folks things like sports, but turns out, like everybody else in Jamaica, he’s caught up in track fever right now. In an unlikely twist to the dark “Psycho,” he’s recorded a Bolt-themed remix of the song, which dropped right after Bolt’s Olympic-record-setting run in the 100 meters yesterday. Download and stream the remix below, and watch the hastily-produced video (along with the X-rated original) below, and tell us in the comments if Tommy did justice to Bolt and his own hit, or if this combo is just half-baked.
