Words by DJ Theory —

With Notting Hill Carnival behind us and Labor Day Weekend celebrations climaxing with the West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn today, it’s a pretty decent time of year for Caribbean music. On that note we’re toting some big bumbaclaat mixes for you this week, including an exclusive soca blast from our man D-Life, plus crucial one drop from Sweden and a mix from out of Brooklyn showcasing the hottest new artist out of JA right now, Tommy Lee. Madd again.

LargeUp Exclusive: D-Life, The LargeUp Sessions Mixtape Vol.1: Massive B affiliate and on-air DJ for NY’s Hot 97, Miami’s Mixx 96 and Sirius Satellite  Trinidad’s D-Life just laced us with a mix for the first installment in our new mixtape series here at LargeUp, The LargeUp Sessions. One of the baddest soca DJs in the game custom built the hour long mix in celebration of Trinidad & Tobago’s 50th year as an independent nation, as well the West Indian Day Parade in NYC. D-Life brings a solid mix of modern soca favorites that is just the necessary ingredient to wrap up the summer. If you’re attending the festivities in Brooklyn, there’s a good chance you can get your paws on a physical copy of the CD as well: just look out for D-Life on the Massive B float.
