The well respected and most talented Tarrus Riley has always put out reggae hits that everyone enjoys, always having strong roots in his culture and working with fellow reggae artists. This time Tarrus Riley has teamed up with someone outside of the reggae world, Anuhea, a singer/songwriter from Hawaii whose musical background is more folk rock than roots reggae. Tarrus and Anuhea’s collaboration “Only Man In The World” is the first single from Dub Rockers, a new label under VP Records.
Anuhea’s music is easy-listening and has an island vibe about it, but she has certainly has never collaborated with an artist like Tarrus. Released in April 2009, her self-titled debut album reached No. 3 on the World/Reggae Billboard Charts, while her cover of Estelle’s “Come Over” (re-titled in her version, as “Come Over Love”) became No. 1 on all Hawaii and Pacific Island radio stations.
Stream “Only Man in the World” below to see how you feel about this inter-island connection, and check out more of our photos with Tarrus Riley at the World Creole Music Festival in Dominica here.
