Words by Jesse Serwer—
RSNY are one of the new acts on Shaggy’s recently-launched Ranch Entertainment label, and one of the only new dancehall groups we know of. The whole “my crew” thing seems to have gone by the wayside since the days of TOK and Voicemail but, with the recent success of RDX, perhaps a return to groups is in order.
In any case, RSNY—Yung Juggz, Remix, Drugzzzy B and HBK Cali—definitely have a chemistry. Their latest single “Love We Long Time” on the Calabash riddim (which was also voiced by Gyptian on “Whyne” and by Shaggy on “Love Mi Jamaica” with Rayvon and “Make Up” with Wayne Wonder) is a pop dancehall tune with a little hip-hop flavor as well, while the video takes us to a pool party crashed by some Joe Dirt-looking guy with a mullet—we’re told his name is “Jethro.” Watch the video below, and put some summer in your life on a cool January day.
