Words by LargeUp Crew, Photos by Kevin Ornelas—
Major Lazer brought out Sean Paul and Machel Montano as their special guests for their performance during the closing night of Ultra Festival in Miami on Sunday. Also out in force were flags—not just the freak kind, but Jamaican ones, British ones, Colombian ones. We even saw at least one from Barbados.
Major Lazer’s Ultra appearances (they also performed on the previous Sunday) were something of a homecoming for Major Lazer MC—and LargeUp contributor—Walshy Fire, who made his first appearance with Major Lazer in his home city since officially joining the group last year. LargeUp’s own Jesse Serwer interviewed Walshy about Major Lazer’s Ultra appearance, among other things, for the Miami New Times. Check out the feature in the current edition of the New Times and the full, web-only Q+A with Walshy, and scroll through for Kevin Ornelas’ photos from Sunday’s performance.
