Celebrated on the last Friday before Dominica’s National, or Independence, Day, Creole Day is one of the highlights of the independence season in Dominica. Dominicans, from government officials on down to small children, are encouraged to don traditional Creole wear, or wob, to work and school, with people from across the island gathering in the streets of Roseau for the Creole Day Parade through the capital city.
