The LargeUp Sessions on Radio Lily w/ Special Guests DJ Rampage & Red Fox: Another family affair this past Thursday on The Large Up Sessions at our weekly post from RadioLily headquarters in NYC. Our good friend and Mixtape Mondays regular DJ Rampage was guest selecting tunes in the booth, joined by a handful of surprise appearances from the likes of and Red Fox and Daniel Bambaata Marley, plus LargeUp crew including Jesse Serwer, Sherman Escoffery, Kieran, and Sir Ledgen. The guest of honor, though, was Red Fox, who passed through to kick off some classics en route to his release party in celebration of his Fiyah Fox mixtape which dropped the same day via LargeUp and Safari Sound. Tune in below:
DJ Craze, Massiv Tour Mixtape: Stumbled on this ragga-influenced gem from the world champion boss DJ Craze. Dude has a long history in jungle, hip-hop and party music of all directions, but it’s definitely a treat to hear him dipping heavy into some reggae and dancehall versions on this new promo mix for the very Caribbean-friendly clothing label Massiv. Some serious remixes on here in the 808 realm, a grip of which I haven’t heard previously, and of course Craze ties it all together with some original samples and flawless scratches. Gotta biggup one of the 305’s finest for this one. Stream below:
Tecla, Bruja: Wrapping things up this week is a diverse and refreshing full-length mixtape from our girl Tecla premiered over at OkayPlayer. The artist of Haitian descent has been making rounds in her home of NYC and beyond (check out her Jamaica-set “Money Move” video featured here on LargeUp) with unique originals and fresh remixes, including some fresh flips of Johnny Osbourne, Robin S and more compiled here. Give this one a spin below or download the full mixtape here.
