Words by LargeUp Crew—
Massive! Thursday night we’re hosting a special, extra-long edition of The LargeUp Sessions featuring two of the most exciting presences in Caribbean music right now.
Yesterday we brought you the Major Lazer-produced world premiere of the self-titled debut mixtape from Suns of Dub. To celebrate, we’re bringing Suns of Dub’s Addis Pablo—Jamaican melodica whiz and son of the late Augustus Pablo—to RadioLily.com for a special mixtape release edition of the show, from 5 to 8 p.m. EST.
Immediately after Addis’ appearance, the fete will tun up even further when we’re joined by none other than Bunji Garlin. Guest co-host/DJ Jam Central will join LargeUp Sessions hosts DJ Gravy, Jesse Serwer and Kieran Meadows as we talk Carnival, “Differentology” and what’s next for the top Trini soca superstar.
On that note, we brought Bunji out to the Okayplayer Holiday Party in NYC last night, where he performed “Differentology” live onstage with the legendary Roots crew and his wife Fay-Ann Lyons on backing vocals! The vibes were way past mad last night so you’re going to want to check back here shortly for the full wrapup (and videos!)
