Mixtape Mondays: Ackeejuice Rockers, Remedy Sound, Jah Army Sound

Words by Deejay Theory —

As we enter New Year’s Eve and the final Mixtape Mondays of 2013, we’re soundtracking the occasion with a trio of different mixes all made in Europe to assist with the pregame or daily operation. If you missed it make sure to grab our picks of the baddest mixtapes of 2013 and we’ll see you in ’14 with more music every Monday!

Ackeejuice Rockers, Heartmix: Some fresh and refreshing vibes to wrap up 2013 from Italian DJ/Production duo Ackeejuice Rockers. The boys had a big year with various moombahton and tropical-inspired releases, but raised the bar substantially in ’13 by earning production credits on Kanye West‘s reggae-sample-laden Yeezus. For this project in mixtape format Ackeejuice dip into some melancholic dancehall, soul and R&B territory keeping it extra deep with a heartical touch from start to finish. This is definitely a tape I’ll be vibing to on the plane home from Boston today. Stream below, download here

Remedy Sound x Chronixx x Tarrus Riley, Good Over Evil: Another well-crafted and carefully selected artist tribute from Germany’s Remedy Sound. Nice and easy one drop this time around from two of our top singers around here, Mr “Singy Singy” Tarrus Riley and the artist on everyone’s watch list Chronixx. Remedy have recorded some strong mixes with this concept showcasing new tunes, b-sides, features and classics from some of our favorites and the latest follows suit same way. Over 50 tracks of nothing but vibes from Chronixx and Tarrus. Stream below, tracklist here

Jah Army Sound, Boom Flick Pon Di Tree: Large new tape from Jah Army, another Italian sound this time touching down via Sicily. After popping off a nice and easy reggae intro — including this dubby and enjoyable new vibe from Bruno Mars — we soon get into a replay of some club rap selects before sliding into dancehall soca and various party flow. Nice one for the whip or perhaps that new gym membership you promised yourself… Stream and download below, tracklist here
