Xterminator, the iconic reggae and dancehall label founded by producer Philip “Fattis” Burrell, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with Living Heart, a tribute to its late founder stacked with unreleased music from the label’s vaults by Sizzla, Beres Hammond, Buju Banton and more. Ahead of the compilation’s release in February, XTM.Nation (the re-branded label now under the direction of Fattis’ son Kareem Burrell) is leaking tunes from the project via LargeUp.
Following on our premiere of Lee “Scratch” Perry’s “Stand In Love” we’ve got “Shield & Guide” from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands’ Pressure Buss Pipe. The “Love and Affection” singjay is in top form on the tune which features the saxophone sound of Dean Fraser and production by Fattis. Stream below and look out for more gems from the Xterminator/XTM.Nation family on LargeUp shortly.
