Words by Jesse Serwer—
Just when we were wondering what Hollie Cook was up to, our 2012 New Artist of the Year has shown back up in our lives. “For Me You Are,” her 2012 collaboration with production svengali Prince Fatty and frequent collaborator Horseman (which we featured way back when) has re-emerged in a remix from Scottish sound system Mungo’s Hi-Fi.
The new version is part of the upcoming LP, Prince Fatty vs Mungo’s Hi-Fi. For the LP, out March 24 via British label Mr. Bongo, both Fatty and Mungo’s remixed five tracks from their counterpart’s catalogue, re-fashioning the originals in their own style.
We’ve scored an exclusive premiere of “For Me You Are (Mungo’s Hi-Fi Mix),” which subs out the lovers rock groove from Fatty’s original production for a digital riddim blending dancehall and U.K. dub. Stream the tune below, and pre-order Prince Fatty vs Mungo’s Hi-Fi (which also features remixes of tunes featuring Sugar Minott and U.K. dancehall legend Top Cat) here.
