Rockers TV: Addis Pablo x Suns of Dub “In My Father’s House” Documentary

Words by Michellee Nelson~

You won’t hear fans of Addis Pablo and Suns of Dub complain about a shortage of entertaining content and music from the crew. The group, along with Jah Solid Rock, have just released a documentary to follow up their upcoming album (which you can preview here) recently released album In My Father’s House on the label. The 38-minute film is directed by Kush I, director of Jah 9’s “Steamers,” and Jesse Royal’s “Modern Day Judas” videos.

The In My Father’s House documentary features interviews with a number of different artists and musicians including legendary guitarist Earl “Chinna” Smith, who has worked closely with Suns of Dub and also played alongside Addis’ father, Augustus Pablo, at the height of his career.

Having released massive amounts of music on Soundcloud and appeared in immersive videos like our three-part series of “Meditations,” Suns of Dub have kept their fans engaged and up to date with their every move through an online presence that’s as innovative as their music. It’s refreshing to see acts from the reggae world keeping pace with what hip-hop and rock acts have been doing for years in terms of online content, and hopefully others will follow suit to promote the genre.

Watch the documentary In My Father’s House below, and let us know what you think.
