Words by LargeUp Crew—
We’re packing our bags and heading to Texas for the LargeUp/House of Marley-presented South by Southwest edition of Rice & Peas at Empire Patio on Wednesday. But before we board that plane to Austin, we’ve got some massive additions to our previously announced roster for the daytime event to share.
Trinidad’s reigning soca crossover king and different-ologist Bunji Garlin and LargeUp’s Artist to Watch for 2014, Jesse Royal, have just been added to an already stacked lineup that includes live performances from Screechy Dan and Los Rakas plus DJ sets from Rice & Peas DJs Max Glazer (of Federation Sound) and LargeUp’s own DJ Gravy; The Heatwave (UK); Mixpak‘s Jubilee; and Deejay Theory (of Mixtape Monday fame), and cameos from Rice & Peas crew Mountain Doo and Miss Likkle Bit. And there’s be a few special surprise guests coming, too.
The party goes down outside (we repeat, outside) at the Empire Patio in downtown Austin from 12 to 5 this Wednesday, March 12. RSVP here, and we’ll see you in Austin!
UPDATE: Fay-Ann Lyons—wife to Bunji Garlin, Trinidad & Tobago’s leading female soca star, burgeoning EDM crossover talent and one of T&T’s “loveliest ladies”—has been added, too.
