You Rate It: Elliphant ft. Bunji Garlin and Diplo – “All Or Nothing”

Words by Natalie Weiner—

Bunji Garlin is, once again, taking soca from T&T to the international pop scene—this time, on a new track with recent Mad Decent-signee Elliphant. Since the release of his crossover hit “Differentology” last year, the Soca Viking’s been making serious moves that have kept his name on everyone’s lips.

Now, “Carnival Tabanca,” as well as “Differentology,” are on rotation at New York’s Hot 97—the same station that just announced Garlin as part of the main stage lineup for this year’s edition of Summer Jam. This comes on the heels of his SXSW debut as the first ever officially-billed soca artist, and his performance as the headliner of our WMC party just a few weeks ago in Miami. “Differentology” has even been on network TV (apparently Grey’s Anatomy is good for more than just McDreamy)—it’s no wonder that rumors of a major label deal keep popping up.

“All Or Nothing” shows off Garlin’s flow with a great verse towards the end. Elsewhere, the track lives up to its billing as “tropical pop” in spots, though mostly leaning towards the electro side of Diplo’s production. Elliphant’s Look Like You Love It EP, which just dropped, also features a remix from Trini producer London Future. All in the Mad Decent family—listen, and let us know that you think in the comments.
