Renaissance Sound System, The Monument – 25 Years in the Mix: Some heavyweight history on deck this week courtesy of the one and only Renaissance Disco. One of the original pioneers in Jamaican sound system culture, Renaissance is recognized worldwide for building exclusive remixes and specials unlike any other sound before them. Shout to our guy DJ Autograph who put me on to this mix celebrating 25 years in the game and pulling up some of their most famous remixes. Skillfully combining reggae, dancehall and hip hop is what Delano does best, now carried on as well by a handful of team members, including DJ Christuff who puts in work behind the boards for this Anniversary dubplate madness. Million Vibes, Straight & Narrow: Keeping it on a bashment tip we push over to Sweden to catch up with Million Vibes, one of Europe’s baddest sound systems. Following their latest reggae and lover’s rock mix “Eternal Fire” Million Vibes return with straight dancehall shellings for their latest, popping off badness, slackness and all the gyal and gun tunes necessary for a proper dancehall mix.
