EVENT: QQ + Hempress Sativa on the LargeUp Sessions (8/14)

Words by LargeUp Crew—

QQ burst on the reggae scene as a likkle youth back in 2005 with the Nyabinghi-flavored “Poverty”; nearly a decade later he reclaimed his place in Jamaican music with a different sort of “One Drop”; his dutty dance tune by that name was one of 2013’s biggest dancehall hits. Things have only kept rolling since then. With his latest track “Tweety Bird (Turn Me On),” the title track from RVSSIAN’s Tweety Bird riddim (which we’ll be premiering here in full soon), climbing dancehall charts ,and a brand-new tune called “Find It” just released on JA Production’s High Life riddim, QQ stops by tomorrow night’s edition of the LargeUp Sessions along with Hempress Sativa. an artist fully rooted on the cultural side of Jamaican music. Her “OohLaLaLa The Weed Thing” is to ganja what Trey Songz’s similarly “Na Na” is to sex; a flip of The Fugees’ classic “Fu-Gee-La.”

Catch her video for that one below, along with QQ”s “Tweety Bird” clip, and tune into The LargeUp Sessions this and every Thursday night from 6-8pm Eastern Standard Time on RadioLily.com.
