Last week, LargeUp set sail from Miami to Jamaica aboard the inaugural Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise, alongside Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Shaggy, Tarrus Riley and about 3,000 of our “closest friends.” Along the way we stopped in MoBay and Ochi, picking up Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, Jah Cure, Etana and Busy Signal, and witnessed performances from all of the above as well as epic dances spun by Stone Love, King Jammy’s, David Rodigan, Mighty Crown. And that’s just about half of it.
We’ll be rolling out all sorts of content from the cruise over the next few weeks but we thought we’d start things off with the very last moments. Early in the morning after the cruise’s last night things climaxed with an epic jam session conducted by Stephen Marley, with Damian, Baby Cham, Sean Paul, Gramps Morgan, Peetah Morgan, Wayne Marshall, Shinehead, MC Supernatural and others taking turns kicking lyrics over sounds from Renaissance Disco. Here’s the bitter end of it, with Sean Paul, Cham and Stephen Marley chiming in on “Redemption Song,” complete with the “conclusive reasoning” from Ship Captain Damian Marley.
