Fashion Fridays: John Varvatos Meets the Marley Brothers

Designer John Varvatos is known for his close association to rock and roll. When legendarily scuzzy punk club CBGB’s closed in 2006, he lined up to lease the space for his flagship New York store. He’s tapped Ringo Starr to model his clothes, and designed a collection inspired by Kiss.

His taste also apparently runs to reggae— at least reggae of the Marley variety. For his latest ad campaign, for spring/summer 2015, Varvatos has tapped Ziggy and Stephen Marley to model suits. The campaign, which debuted Tuesday in Women’s Wear Daily, was shot by photographer Danny Clinch (who gives the series a classic look, in stark black and white), and will be followed on Feb. 5 by a short documentary in celebration of Bob Marley’s 70th birthday the following day.
