Impressions: LargeUp x House of Marley at CES 2015

Every January, just after New Year’s, the consumer electronics business heads to Las Vegas for CES, the world’s largest tech trade show. Headphones brand House of Marley wanted to make a big splash as they unveiled their new product line this year, so they called upon LargeUp to program the entertainment for its booth. We couldn’t come with anything plain, so we rounded up some our favorite artists and brought them to Vegas.

The result was one of the show’s most talked-about activations, with live performances from reggae greats Johnny Osbourne, Shinehead and Sister Nancy as well as up-and-coming musical scion, Daniel Bambaata Marley, and daily musical selections from DJ Gravy. Shinehead proved particularly popular with the CES massive. He ran through the crowd, posed for pics with Samoan wrestlers, carried crates of vinyl (which he spun with Kingston 12 Hi-Fi partner, Papalotl) and turned the energy all the way up.

In the end, House of Marley took home the award for best in-home audio system (from trade publication Twice) for its One Foundation all-in-one system, and every guest who stopped by the booth left with nuff vibes. Wins all around.

Here’s the highlights from our Vegas “vacation,” via photographer Isaac Brekken.
