Just like an industry veteran should, Shaggy reinforces us with positivity in his new track, “Don’t Stop,” from the jazzy Ram Jam riddim. Coming off of a productive 2014– Shaggy was Grammy nominated for his album Out of Many, One Music– now, the internationally celebrated artist is back in the studio working on his thirteenth album. In a recent interview, Shaggy talked adding new talent and a collaborative creative process. “It’s hard. That’s not an easy thing to let go of. But you realize, I ain’t on the block no more, I am not in the streets, I am all around the world. But it’s nice to have the young kids to come in the studio and add that new flavor.” Shaggy also claims that he’s really feeling the vibes of Chronixx right now. Ditto.
As you may remember, from our premiere of Chronixx’s, “Play Some Roots,” earlier this week, Silly Walks Discotheque, who previously collaborated with Chronixx on “Smile Jamaica,” are the authors of the Ram Jam riddim. The freshly released riddim features tunes from Chronixx, Clay, Sara Lugo and Protoje, to name a few.
Get your weekend jumpstarted by taking a spin on this uplifting Shaggy tune. Then, go check our Chronixx premiere, and the full Ram Jam riddim for more gems.
