Major Lazer, Transmission 5: Pirate Radio: The latest Major Lazer mix just touched the cloud this week delivering some current ML favorites and nuff unreleased tunes – with a sick one from Chronixx leading it off – all mixed by our longtime bredren Walshy Fire. As you’d anticipate from any mix from this camp get ready for a nonstop excursion through the electro-Caribbean jungle – and look out for a dub from yours truly while you’re there. Silent Addy, Unruly (Best of Popcaan): Miami LargeUp family Silent Addy continues the upward movements with a new mix of hitters, singles and b-sides from the unruly boss himself Popcaan. Warming up with VSOP Addy makes sure you’re up to speed on all things Poppy – would be an appropriate time to grab his Best of Vybz Kartel mix – as well as pull up DJ Arems’ best of Popcaan mix from ’13 as well for the full unruly treatment. #Kickout. Poirier, Je Suis Selected: Haven’t been treated to new mix from Montreal-based DJ/producer Poirier in a very hot minute now, but the Mixpak artist just shared a new ting to get the people ready for summer. The mix travels an energetic 60 minute ride through a typical Poirier set – fusing tropical bass rhtyhms with various Caribbean, UK and Afro notes throughout. Full wine up status.
