We’ve been following the unlikely ascendancy of Lucas Dipasquale from Canadian college kid to dancehall heartthrob since it first started with his YouTube Popcaan covers mashup last year. Since then, he’s performed at Jamaica Dream Weekend ‘longside Poppy, dropped a dancehall single called “Make My Rounds” as “Lucas D” (watch the video here), and, n0w, gone from viral video dude status to a real deal with Univer Records Canada.
Lucas’ swag is suitably tun up on “Do It Like,” a big summer anthem featuring guest appearances from an international crew of Konshens (JA), Kardinal Offishall (Canada) and Stylo G (UK). This one touches a lot of bases, as each artist brings a very different flavor to the table, but it all blends smoothly into a lady-friendly dancehall club banger sure to soundtrack wining sessions from Caribana to Notting Hill.
Stream below, read our “Viral Vibes” feature on Lucas here, and look out for the “Do It Like” video coming soon.
