Two of reggae music’s leading young lions, Kabaka Pyramid and Iba MaHr, are joining forces for their first US tour this summer, backed by The Bebble Rockers band. LargeUp is the official media sponsor for the tour, which kicks off next Thursday, June 11th, at the World Beat Center in San Diego. The duo then wind their through California, Colorado and Texas, where stops include the Reggae in the Hills Fest in Angel’s Camp, CA and the Big Grow Dispensary in Colorado Springs, and Flamingo Cantina in Austin (a city where we previously linked with Kabaka for the Sounds From the Caribbean showcase at South by Southwest). Things then take a turn East through New Orleans, Florida and up the East Coast, climaxing with a showcase at SOBs in NYC July 12th.
The tour is just one part of a big summer for Kabaka, who is set to drop the video for his Damian Marley-produced single “Well Done” shortly, and is also slated to appear at Reggae Sumfest in July, ahead of a South American tour in August. Iba MaHr too has big plans, with his debut album scheduled for release sometime in the coming months.
