If you’ve been in New York the past few summers, you know that Montauk is where it’s at come June, July and August. Two and a half hours east of NYC at the very end of Long Island, the isolated beach town past the Hamptons is about as close as you can get to a pure island vibe in the New York Metro area. We’ve been glad to be doing events there for each of the last four summers.
This year, we’re taking the Montauk Sessions party to the prestigious Montauk Yacht Club where we’ll be kicking off the summer this Sunday, June 14th, with a live performance from dancehall icon Nardo Ranks (of “Burrup” fame) backed by the Skadanks band.
The event, presented with DMK Entertainment, also features appearances from LargeUp family Martei Korley and Jah Banks, and Ras Droppa, and sounds from DJ Gravy and Micro Don of Rice and Peas.
It’s not every day (or ever) that you get to hear authentic dancehall at a yacht club, so put on those boat shoes, but be prepared to buss a wine, too!
