For this week’s Selector’s Choice, we caught up with Swiss DJ/producer Wildlife! aka Samuel Riot, out of the Mixpak Records and Goldrush International camps.
Waddup, waddup….it’s Wildlife! I recently got back from a short trip to Jamaica, where I played a party with fellow Mixpak fam Jubilee and Murlo. As always it was mad inspirational, energy levels were up like seven 24/7, and we went to dances every night. Here’s a few tracks that got played out hard while we were on the island, and found their way into my crates, plus some brand new tracks I’ve been rinsing out in my sets over the past few weeks.
Popcaan – Never Sober
Poppy’s new single courtesy of Notnice… kickout like a penalty!
Dexta Daps – Shabba Madda Pot
After dominating Caribbean airwaves with his breakthrough single “7eleven” for a solid six months, Jamaica’s fastest rising star delivers yet another scorcher, via Daseca Records.
Darrio – Trapweed
Konshens’ protege Darrio comes through with a high-grade update of Fetty Wap’s uber hit.
Konshens – Gal Ting
Konshens brings the heat on Dre Skull’s latest riddim… this one has been on heavy rotation for some weeks now, and will surely continue to get mad plays throughout the summer.
Vybz Kartel – Everybody
Despite being locked up for almost four years now, Adidja Palmer keeps dominating dancehall and delivering hits on a weekly basis. It’s hard to pick just one track from the man, but this one is definitely up there with my favorite Kartel tunes right now.
