When people of Caribbean descent make those voyages abroad, melancholy can set in fast with the foreign weather, food, and culture. Crucian spitter Prya out of the FAMWORLD Camp and Island Boy Cartel puts those feelings into words with his newest single, “Back Home In A Dream.” The speed at which “Back Home” has risen to popularity in the Virgin Islands, one usually only sees in dancehall and calypso. The catchy tune, with its melodic voicing and track structure, is definitely capable puts you in that dreamlike feeling. The video tops it off with brilliant visions of St. Croix in all her glory. The track is coming off Prya’s newly release EP, Baggage Claim, which you can hear below.
Also, if you missed it, R.City rated “Back Home” as one of their toppa-top VI tracks, and jumped on a hot remix with Pressure Busspipe, on the VI Ova Everyting mixtape by R.City. “Back Home” is produced by Scarecrow Beats, with a video directed by Kareem Lake and Anduze Visuals. Stay tuned to LargeUp, as we already got the word on Prya’s next project, the Turf Life mixtape hosted by Jahlion and Slik coming early 2016.
