New York City dancehall OG Mr. Easy pays tribute to di gyal dem on “Bashment Gal,” his latest link-up with current NYC torchbearer Ricky Blaze. Musically, “Bashment Gal” is another ’90s dancehall throwback in the vein of the duo’s previous collaboration, “The Don” and like that track it’s spot-on perfect. The chemistry between these two borders on alchemy; Easy also features on “Dance,” one of the best tracks from Ricky’s new LP Conquer the Moment
We’re glad to hear that they’re doing a whole EP together, also called The Don. What’s more, “Bashment Gal” now has a video that does the song justice. The Jay Will-directed clip is every bit as fun as the song itself, with classic West Kingston scenery, vintage fashions, and a cameo from the always-entertaining dancehall personality Tanto Blacks, as well as members of the Dance Xpressionz dance crew.
