It’s Monday, which can only mean we’ve done all the heavy lifting for you digging up some of the best roots, dancehall and soca from all over. All you have to do is press play below.
LargeUp Premiere: Corey Chase, 9 Mile Music Festival Mixtape: In preparation for the 23rd Annual 9 Mile Music Festival happening February 27th in Miami, our friend Corey Chase put together some selections to get people in tune. With Damian, Stephen, Julian and Skip Marley all on the bill, Corey picked just a few of their most memorable moments from the crates, paired with big tunes from additional headliners Konshens, Nas, Capleton, Protoje and Kabaka Pyramid. If you can’t make it to the festival this year just log on to the official mix right here.
Coppershot, Lawless 2016 Mixtape: Once again the team at Coppershot in Jamaica have linked up with Cham to create another wicked dancehall mixtape. Lawless 2016 is a ride through Kingston city with Baby Cham and friends like “Real Rich” artist Tanto Blacks joined by selectors Coppershaun and Marc Chin catching forwards left and right. While we’re on the subject check out our webisode with Cham from the Welcome To Jamrock Cruise right here. Stream or download below.
So Shifty, Vital Supply: With Trinidad Carnival 2016 underway next week you can be sure of plenty of DJ mixes to surface from all corners – and although it’s very much still winter over there it’s no surprise that Hamburg, Germany’s So Shifty camp will come with the heat every year. As always, plenty of trustworthy tunes in the soca spectrum that will be ringing on the road in T&T or wherever you may be at the moment. And if power soca is more your speed, they got you covered as well right here.
