Grab some bun and cheese, and take in the sounds of some of the best mixes to drop in the past week, as we roll out the Easter Monday edition of Mixtape Mondays, and our brand-new mix series.

DJ Jaul, Full Charge Bashment Mix: It seems like dancehall is off to a bit of a slow start so far this year as most of the big chunes getting forwards in the dance are still from 2015. That’s doesn’t mean there aren’t some really good tracks that have been released as of late, and a lot are right here on this mix from Rome’s DJ Jaul. Sprinkled with some serious essentials from the past, this mix showcases nuff brand new chunes that are sure to be some of the biggest of 2016. Stream and download below:

Bobby Kush, Dancehall Kushtape 90s: The 90’s brought about the golden era of dancehall when you could buss a dance to almost every single riddim that came out, and everything was nice. Things have changed but ’90s dancehall is still a go-to for most DJs, especially after too many badman chunes have cleared out the dance floor. In this mix, Bobby Kush of Trend Setterz Sound reminds us that the typical riddims you might hear in a throwback set aren’t the only ones that make you wanna slap a wall. From Pepperseed to the Arab Attack riddim, all your favorites you might have forgotten are here and you won’t regret taking a trip down memory lane. Stream below:

DJ Jam Central, Afro Soca: The first installment in the new monthly LargeUp Mix Series takes us into the heart of the burgeoning Afro Soca movement. It’s no secret that Afrobeats and soca share a lot of stylistic similarities, and the two genres, though geographically a world apart, have come even closer together through some heavyweight collaborations between their respective stars. Jam Central’s Afro Soca kicks off with the “Carnival Remix” of Runtown and Wizkid’s “Bend Down Pause” featuring soca king Machel Montano and production from Walshy Fire, before running through all of the latest Afro-tinged soca, and bashment-tinged Afrobeats. Trinidad’s Olatunji and Nigeria’s Timaya, respective ambassadors of Afro-Caribbean fusion in their home countries, are both well represented with several tracks each, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg, as Afro Soca packs 90 minutes of tropical heat into one sizzling mix.
