Listen to a Mix of Akae Beka’s New “Livicated” Album from I Grade Dub

“I, have tasks to accomplish…” More welcomed words from one of the esteemed Akae Beka. The haunting voice of the legendary Midnite Band out of Freedom City (Fredriksted, St. Croix), Vaughn Benjamin launches the campaign for his third full-length release under this new project, entitled Livicated. This critical roots album is another collaboration with the Zion I Kings and Zion High Productions, following his first and second Akae Beka releases, Portals and Homage to the Land. The campaign includes a live promo mix by Tippy I of I Grade Dub/I Grade Records/Zion I Kings, hosted by Ancient King and Wonderful Counselor, premiering right here.

Livicated sees Benjamin himself contributing on the production side of things, adding his hand to the album’s seamless production. By expressing different music stylings in classic dub fyah renditions, the sound that Zion I Kings and Akae Beka achieve here keeps them on the leading edge of modern roots music. After you check out the I Grade mix, make sure to get the full album over on iTunes. Stay tuned to LargeUp for more info on the official Livicated Tour starting in California in November, and all other Akae Beka info, and make sure to watch the LargeUp TV webisode with Vaughn and Pressure Busspipe from our Virgin Islands Nice series for more wisdom from this brilliant thinker.
