Here on the Northwest Coast it’s been raining for two months straight so some well-selected soca music goes a long way in lifting the spirit. DJ Enroute of Rampage Sound Global has collected a group of massive soca chunes from recent memory and presents them well on Soca Flare Up. If you’re not familiar with the songs on this mix you probably don’t listen to soca often so it’s a great place to start for beginners as well as soca warriors who want all the hits in one place. Shawn Storm x Wildcat Sound, Gaza Loyalty: If you’re not familiar with the whole Portmore Empire/ Vybz Kartel Saga, Shawn Storm is one of Di Teacha’s most loyal chargies, and has stayed his right-hand man through thick and thin, even though most of the Gaza family is long gone. Throughout Kartel’s murder trial, Shawn Storm refused to give up any information and like the Worl Boss is currently sentenced to life in jail. Thankfully new songs have started to leak out and Italy’s Wildcat Sound has compiled some of Shawn’s newest tracks sprinkled with a few of his former hits.
