DJ Doctor Esan, 1 Soca 2017: December and January are big months for soca releases as all of the artists start building momentum for Carnival. Many artists have their eye on the prize for the annual International Soca Monarch competition which takes place on Carnival Friday in Trinidad and crowns the biggest artist for the year – and right here you’ll find a whole heap ah contenders on Miami’s Doctor Esan’s 1 Soca mix with 200 minutes of brand new soca. Get ready for di road with this essential mix featuring big artists like Rupee, Olatunji, Machel Montano, Lyrikal and Voice among many others. Stream below.
DJ Triplet, Bodmon Mix: Germany’s DJ Triplet has put in some heavy work on this mix combining reggae, dancehall and hip hop seamlessly throughout with an added touch of afrobeats for good measure. Every other song on this compilation is an exclusive remix created by Triplet with dancehall artists blended over some of today’s biggest rap beats as well as many original bootleg remixes. If you’re a fan of reggae music but like current rap too, you’ll definitely wanna hear this. Stream below, download and tracklist here.
DJ Neil Nice, Boomshot Dubs – Inna Digi Style: Every once in awhile a dj takes the time to hunt down the riddims behind some of the most beloved reggae and dub tracks to put out an instrumental mix like this one and the results can be pure fiyah. For this example NYC’s Neil Nice highlights some amazing production from the digital era of 90’s reggae up til now. You’ll find yourself immersed in the lumbering bass lines and echoing horns of the music behind some of your favorite reggae songs so take a breather and enjoy. Stream below.
